Linda Aksomitis is a Travel Photojournalist, Web designer and author.

At five, Linda Aksomitis knew she was going to be a writer, so she taught herself to read. That simple act opened a door to a world full of adventures and places she could only imagine. She wanted it all—for real, so she’d be able to write about it too.

At fifteen she decided to do everything in life at least once. There are still lots of things on her list, but she has managed to accomplish quite a few. She has worked at 45 different things for pay, including barrel racing, cake decorating, reupholstering furniture, serger sewing machine mechanic, snowmobile racing, storytelling, teaching, editing, travelling saleslady, and more, since she graduated from high school at the age of sixteen.
She has planted a tree in the Malaysian rainforest, danced with the headhunters of Borneo, snowmobiled 3000 feet up a mountainside across a “terrace,” ridden horseback through the mountains in Yellowstone and Tennessee, ziplined 800 feet from one mountain to another, paddled whitewater rapids, floated miles through an underground river, and generally, taken every opportunity life threw at her—plus made more than a few of her own.

Linda graduated with a Master of Vocational/Technical Education from the University of Regina in 2007. Her thesis work was in online education, since she has been an online instructor since graduating with her undergrad degree in 2000. Prior to that, she worked in the school system for 18 years, spending 11 of those as a school librarian (her undergrad education focus is as a teacher-librarian), so she is pleased to be the instructor for a Library Training Certificate program offered by Credenda Virtual High School & College today, sharing her love for books and literature with students. She also teaches the online course, Introduction to Internet Writing Markets, available through community colleges around the world.

Linda is also an internationally published award winning author of 21 books, which include fiction and nonfiction titles for preschoolers to adults.

In 2008 Linda and her husband, David Aksomitis, celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary. They have three sons, three wonderful daughters-in-law, and one grandson, who just lives across town from them.
