Winter is one of my favorite seasons, however, I can tell that this year I may need a winter getaway to a warmer destination. After all, the snow arrived here before Halloween and likely won’t melt until the end of March!
So, I’ve been going back through my albums of great places I’ve stayed and put the Isle of Capri Casino Hotel Lake Charles on my list of must-revisits.
The Isle of Capri truly sets the mood for a tropical vacation even if it’s only as far south as Louisiana. I know I’ll appreciate the palms and green plants–what a beautiful entrance–when I leave these snowbanks behind!
Inside, the Capri is just as gorgeous as outside, no matter what the weather is. The lobby carried the same vivid colors and fun-in-the-sun theme as the exterior.
My last visit to the Capri was more than comfortable, since I had a junior suite all to myself. I loved the bed with its pillow top, sink into sleep mattress–and I must add, excellent pillows. To be honest, the pillows are just as important, if not more so, when I’m assessing my comfort at a hotel.
With so much room, I spread out through the living area and its couch and desk, feeling like I was right at home. And I did have all the comforts of home, from three televisions to high speed Internet, along with other less entertaining amenities like ironing boards and coffee makers.
But the Isle of Capri is about a lot more than a good night’s sleep. In fact, no matter what the weather you can spend several fun days without ever leaving the hotel. I know I spent hours exploring the attached floating riverboat, which as you might have guessed, is where the Isle casino is housed. I signed up for the Player’s Fan Club when I arrived and never did spend my whole allotment as I kept winning. But that’s a good thing, right?
Checking out the upcoming events at the Capri, I can see there’s a great New Year’s Eve party with the legendary band, Bag of Donuts (neat name!), at the Caribbean Cove. Hmm, I wonder if the Isle of Capri still has some vacancies…
