Want to have some fancy drinks and enjoy the view of the Bow River? Calgary has plenty of cocktail bars that are full both during the day and the night. Below, we listed the best ones we’ve visited so far.

Barley Mill

Located next to Eau Clair Market on the banks of Bow River, Barely Mill is a beautiful bar that has a variety of beers and whiskeys, with a great patio during the summer. Their menu includes sandwiches, burgers, and other pub grubs such as fish and chips or pies.

Cannibale

Cannibale is an impressive hangout situated in Bridgeland across the river from Downtown. The location is both a bar and a barbershop, so after you get your haircut, you can hit the bar for a beer and shot combo and a mezcal-based Aztec cocktail. Of course, they also offer traditional snacks like a sourdough pretzel or olive toast.

Proof

Proof is a hip cocktail bar where the menu changes regularly. Still, they have every bottle of alcoholic beverage that you can think of. The pub is located in Betline, and the place is extremely spacious, so there shouldn’t be a problem finding a seat at the Proof bar.
