It can be said with certainty that from time to time, a romantic getaway is something all couples wish for. The very thought of traveling around the world sounds intriguing, and if you add your love partner to the equation then the idea becomes irresistible.

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine a warm summer evening, you and your partner lying down on a towel spread out on the sand, with a glass of wine in hand and various topics for conversation. Then you kiss and cuddle while looking at the beautiful view of a rising sun.

#1 Culture of France

France is considered the most romantic place in the world, rightfully so. France is known for an astonishing amount of history, iconic landmarks, beautiful beaches, and sensational food.

The one city which you, and your lover, must visit is definitely Paris. Paris is the capital of France and the fact that it is considered the most chosen destination for a honeymoon or anniversary says it all.

The first thing that is highly recommended to do is climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower and have a romantic dinner at one of the restaurants. Not only you’ll experience the exquisite culinary skills of the chef you will also have a beautiful view of the whole city.

The trip to Paris cannot go without cruising on the river Seine. It is the most magical thing to do, especially at night. You will experience the beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Museum d’Orsay and so much more.

These images are something probably everyone has seen, but similar to many other things, there are those marvels that need to be seen in person at least once in your life.

Another thing you must do in Paris is to go on a picnic. Paris is full of parks and gardens. Bring a towel and a basket full of food and a bottle or two of champagne or wine and let the beauty of nature dazzle you.
Park Montsouris, Park André Citroën and Park de la Villette are just few of the many parks in Paris.

Finally, Paris is not the only city to see in France. If you go south, you will be able to see the marvelous culture of the Occitan towns on the southern Riviera. Places like Aux-de-Provence, Montpellier, and certainly Marseille as the biggest city around.

Famous places to the east like Nice, Cannes, and Monaco also belong to the French culture, but Monaco isn’t a part of the Republic. Rather it’s a sovereign city-state that’s known to be a billionaire playground with 8-9 figure yachts, luxury cars and also some of the highest stakes gambling in the Monte Carlo area. For those not worth billions it’s probably a better idea to bring their chips to a live casino experience available online.

#2 Streets of Italy

From Roman antiquity to the present day, Italy is known for its architecture, culture, literature, and good taste. And, Venice is considered the most romantic city in Italy.

The first thing you should do in Venice is to go on a walk. Zatters is a famous long walkway that will certainly leave you breathless.

You will get to see some landmarks and when you get tired of walking you can take a break in some cafes and restaurants where you will be blown away by the charms of Italian cuisine.

One thing that can be very interesting to couples is the stone heart of St Mark’s Basilica. There is a legend about the stone heart and it is believed that if a couple touches a stone together, eternal love will be guaranteed.

Finally, you and your partner can take a gondola ride. It’s one of the most romantic things you can do in Venice. The ride lasts half an hour and costs about 100 euros but is certainly worth every penny.

#3 Islands of Greece

Greece is considered one of the most popular destinations in the world, rightfully so. Filled with rich history, remarkable architecture, delicious food, and dazzling beaches.

And they are iconic, with the islands being portrayed everywhere from paintings and movies to Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey for that matter.

Santorini is considered the most romantic place not only in Greece but also in the world. Year after year Santorini becomes an increasingly popular place for proposals, honeymoons, and anniversaries.

One thing that all couples must do in Santorini is to have dinner on a patio that overlooks the caldera. You will enjoy the beautiful sunset with exquisite Santorini wine.

The sky in Santorini is breathtaking. You will have the chance to see the color change in the sky from yellow, red, orange, and more.

If you want an even more intimate atmosphere and you have money to spare, you can stay in a more expensive hotel that offers you a private pool that is located on a cliff and overlooks the ocean.

Final Thoughts

Although these scenarios bring music to the ears, in the past, not everyone could travel. The reasons vary from person to person. But, in general, people didn’t travel because they didn’t have:
1. Money
2. Time
3. Conditions

You would be surprised to know how many people did not leave their country, let alone go to another continent.

Thankfully, times have changed and today, apart from having a variety of school trips and travel benefits for students, there are also plenty of beautiful places in Europe that you can visit at an affordable price.

Finally, we should always keep in mind that traveling is a privilege which we should greatly appreciate and cherish.
