Furthermore, Ontario has a plethora of landmarks to offer ranging from hiking trails to city tours worth exploring. Therefore, there’s something for everyone if you’re willing to venture out and explore this beautiful Canadian province. With that in mind, here are a few fun things to do while visiting Ontario.

Ontario Day Tours

Ontario is the most populated Canadian province and has plenty to see and plenty to do. That being said, if you want to explore the wonders of Ontario, then you should try some of the day tours available. For example, if you’re a fan of city life then visiting Ottawa, the capital city of Canada, is a must-do.

For starters, try the Rideau canal cruise that will allow you to view the city from a different perspective than than taking an uber. Rideau Canal is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it allows a great overview of Ottawa’s landmarks, such as Ottawa City Hall, the University of Ottawa, Canadian Museum of Nature, Lansdowne park, National Arts Centre and many more.

For those who enjoy busy city life, Canada’s largest, most culturally-diverse, city, Toronto, is the perfect destination to visit.

But before setting out on foot, try exploring it from another boat cruise–a Toronto Tall Ship Boat Cruise. This time, you get to sail in a three-masted schooner from the 1930s on a two-hour cruise from the Toronto Harbor all the way to beautiful Lake Ontario. The scenic view of the city from this tall ship is something worth trying. At a minimum, you’ll get some amazing pictures.

Go Chasing Waterfalls

Everyone gets excited when they see a waterfall. These wonders of Mother Nature leaves everyone in awe no matter their age or preference. This is especially true when you visit one of the greatest waterfalls in the world: Niagara Falls.

Various tours allow you to fully explore Niagara falls from both land and water regardless from which side of the border you’re on. For example, Maid of the Mist and Journey Behind the Falls, allow you to truly explore Niagara the way you never explored it before. You don’t get to see waterfalls like this every day.

Other notable waterfalls in Ontario include:

  • Hamilton Area falls
  • Rideau Falls
  • Inglis Falls
  • Kakabeka Falls
  • River-ragged Falls at Oxtoungue Provincial Park

Stargazing in Ontario

Once you get tired of traffic and city noise, you can always head out into the wilderness to enjoy yourself and relax. Ontario has many national parks, hiking trails, and camping sites where you can sit back and enjoy nature. It’s a big province, Canada’s second largest behind Quebec, and you’ll have to pick destinations you want to see as you won’t be able to get everywhere in a single trip.

When the sun goes down, you can stargaze and see the night sky in all its splendor. With city light pollution, you don’t get a chance to see a clear night sky every day. Once you view the stars, planets, and constellations, you get a chance to appreciate just how large the universe really is and how small the rock we live on is compared to everything that’s out there.

Some of the best spots for camping and stargazing include:

  • Point Gordine Park
  • North Frontenac Dark Sky Preserve
  • Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Preserve
  • Lennox and Addington Dark Sky Viewing Area

Panoramic Views

But during the day, there are also a lot of panoramic views to look at and enjoy Ontario’s nature and wilderness to the fullest. If you prefer to check out daytime sites, here are some of the places you should pay a visit.

  • Devil’s Rock at Temiskaming Shores
  • Lion’s Head Lookout
  • Ouimet Canyon
  • Irish Mountain Lookout

As mentioned before, Ontario has a bit of everything for everyone ranging from a plethora of regulated online casinos to historical landmarks to some of nature’s greatest wonders. So whether you prefer city life or outdoor activities, you’ll most definitely find what your looking for when visiting Ontario.
